The most recent same-day movie release was “Marry Me” on February 11, and the next release will be “Firestarter” on May 13.In addition to select same-day releases, other upcoming Universal films will arrive on Peacock as soon as 45 days after they hit theaters. “The 355” was the most recent movie to follow this release strategy. That said, some big franchise releases like “Jurassic World: Dominion” are not expected to follow the 45-day window. They can then be licensed to other subscription services for 10 months, before returning exclusively to Peacock for another four months. In recent years, Universal films have premiered on HBO Max and HBO following their theatrical releases. While 2021 films from Universal, like “F9,” are still set to go to HBO first, 2022 releases are not expected to be available on HBO’s platforms.
